Our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between approximately 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. The exact pickup time will depend on the train schedule and the location of your accommodation.
You will then travel by tourist transportation toward the Ollantaytambo or Poroy train station. During the transfer, our team will provide assistance and confirm the important details of your journey.
Depending on your confirmed train service, you will travel to Ollantaytambo or Poroy.
The drive to Ollantaytambo crosses beautiful Andean landscapes and traditional communities within the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival at the station, you will receive assistance before boarding the train.
You will board an Expedition-class tourist train or a similar service for the journey to Machu Picchu Pueblo.
The route follows the Vilcanota River and offers impressive views of mountains, agricultural terraces, rocky valleys and tropical cloud forest. As the train approaches Aguas Calientes, the landscape becomes increasingly lush and dramatic.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our representative or professional guide will meet you at the train station.
You will then walk to the bus station and board the vehicle that travels along the winding mountain road toward the entrance of the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary.
The bus journey from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
During the ascent, you will enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and tropical vegetation. Upon arrival, your guide will assist you with the entrance process and provide important instructions regarding the visitor circuit.
You will begin a guided exploration of Machu Picchu according to the circuit assigned to your entrance ticket.
Your professional guide will explain the history, construction techniques and possible functions of the main archaeological sectors included in the route. Depending on the confirmed circuit, the visit may include views or access to areas such as:
Access to the Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows, Intihuatana and Sacred Rock depends on the official circuit assigned to your ticket and current visitor regulations.
During the designated route, you will have opportunities to take photographs and admire the surrounding landscape.
Machu Picchu is located between dramatic mountains and tropical cloud forest, creating one of the most recognizable archaeological settings in the world. Visitors must remain on the established circuit and follow the instructions of their guide and sanctuary staff.
After completing the guided visit, you will board the bus for the descent to Machu Picchu Pueblo.
Depending on your train schedule, you may have time to have lunch, visit local shops or walk through the town at your own expense.
At the scheduled time, you will board the train for the return journey to Ollantaytambo or Poroy.
Upon arrival at the station, our tourist transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
Arrival in Cusco is expected between approximately 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.
The final arrival time may vary depending on the confirmed train schedule, traffic and operating conditions. You will be transferred to your hotel or a previously coordinated location in central Cusco.
