Q’eswachaka Full-Day Tour

4:30–5:00 a.m. — Hotel Pickup in Cusco

Our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between approximately 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. Once the group is ready, we will begin the journey toward the southern provinces of the Cusco region.

During the drive, you will observe agricultural landscapes, small Andean communities and mountains illuminated by the early morning light.

Panoramic Journey through Southern Cusco

We will travel through traditional districts and rural communities while your guide introduces the history, geography and cultural traditions of the region.

This route offers a different perspective of Cusco, far from the most crowded tourist attractions, and allows visitors to appreciate the daily life of the southern Andes.

Pomacanchi Lagoon

Our first main stop will be Pomacanchi Lagoon, one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in the area.

You will have time to admire the peaceful landscape, observe local birdlife and take photographs of the surrounding mountains and agricultural fields.

Acopia and Asnaqocha Lagoons

We will continue toward Acopia Lagoon and Asnaqocha Lagoon, two picturesque high-Andean lakes located along the route.

Brief stops will allow you to appreciate their contrasting colors, natural surroundings and importance to nearby communities.

Guided Visit to the Q’eswachaka Bridge

We will arrive at the Q’eswachaka Bridge, suspended above the Apurímac River. Your guide will explain the bridge’s Inca origins, its symbolic importance and the traditional annual reconstruction ceremony performed by local communities.

The bridge is made from braided ichu grass using techniques that have been preserved for centuries. The reconstruction process strengthens community cooperation and keeps this ancient engineering tradition alive.

Free Time and Optional Bridge Crossing

After the guided explanation, you will have free time to explore the area, enjoy the landscape and take photographs.

Depending on local regulations, weather conditions and safety instructions, visitors may have the opportunity to cross the traditional bridge. Participation is optional, and all instructions provided by the guide and local authorities must be followed.

Typical Andean Lunch

After the visit, we will travel to a local restaurant to enjoy a traditional Andean lunch.

This will be an opportunity to relax, recover energy and experience regional flavors before beginning the return journey.

Return to Cusco

After lunch, we will travel back to Cusco through the scenic landscapes of the southern valley.

Our estimated arrival time is between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m., although the schedule may vary depending on traffic, road conditions and the group’s pace.
