Begin your adventure in San Pedro de Atacama, where you will explore the Atacama Salt Flat, Chaxa Lagoon, the Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons, the Tatio Geysers and the spectacular Valley of the Moon. Continue north through Pica, the Pintados Geoglyphs and the enormous Atacama Giant before entering the remote landscapes of the Chilean Altiplano.
The journey also includes Isluga National Park, Las Vicuñas National Reserve, the Surire Salt Flat, Lauca National Park and the breathtaking Chungará Lake. Along the way, you may observe flamingos, vicuñas and other wildlife adapted to the extreme conditions of the Andes.

Upon arrival at El Loa Airport in Calama, our representative will welcome you and provide transportation to San Pedro de Atacama.
The journey crosses the arid landscapes of northern Chile and offers your first views of the Atacama Desert, surrounding mountain ranges and volcanic formations.
Upon arrival in San Pedro, you will check in at your hotel. The remainder of the day will be free to rest and begin acclimatizing to the altitude.
You may explore the town’s traditional adobe streets, central square, artisan shops and local restaurants at your own pace.

After breakfast, we will begin an unforgettable journey through the landscapes south of San Pedro de Atacama.
Our first stop will be Toconao, a traditional village known for its stone architecture, historic church and peaceful central square.
Your guide will explain the town’s history and the importance of agriculture in this extremely dry environment.
Continue to the Atacama Salt Flat, one of the largest salt flats in Chile.
The immense salt formations, surrounding volcanoes and desert landscape create one of the region’s most impressive natural settings.
Visit Chaxa Lagoon, located within Los Flamencos National Reserve.
This protected area is an important habitat for several flamingo species. From the designated paths and viewpoints, you may observe these birds feeding in the mineral-rich waters.
Wildlife sightings depend on seasonal and natural conditions.
The journey continues toward the high-altitude Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons.
Surrounded by volcanoes and golden grasslands, these deep-blue lagoons provide spectacular panoramic views of the Altiplano.
After exploring the area, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama.

The day begins before sunrise with a journey toward the Tatio Geysers.
Located at more than 4,000 meters above sea level, this geothermal field is especially active during the cold early morning hours.
You will observe steam columns, bubbling pools and geothermal formations illuminated by the first light of day. Because of the extreme altitude and temperature, visitors must remain on the authorized paths and follow all safety instructions.
Depending on operating and weather conditions, you may have the opportunity to bathe in a designated thermal pool.
Bring a swimsuit, towel and warm clothing for use before and after entering the water.
On the return journey, we will stop in Machuca, a small Altiplano village surrounded by wetlands and volcanic landscapes.
You may observe traditional adobe architecture and local wildlife before returning to San Pedro.
In the afternoon, visit the Valley of the Moon, famous for its salt formations, dunes and landscapes resembling the surface of another planet.
Explore panoramic viewpoints and enjoy the changing colors of the desert as the sun begins to set.

After breakfast, we will leave San Pedro de Atacama and begin the journey toward Pica.
Along the route, there will be stops at panoramic viewpoints overlooking salt flats, mountain ranges and immense desert plains.
Depending on the final operating program, additional viewpoints near the Valley of the Moon or Death Valley may be included before continuing north.
Pica is a desert oasis known for its agricultural production, citrus fruits and warm climate.
Upon arrival, you will visit the traditional town center and its historic church. There will also be time to sample local products or enjoy regional gastronomy at your own expense.

After breakfast, we will continue through the desert landscapes of the Tarapacá Region.
Visit the Pintados Geoglyphs, one of the largest concentrations of ancient geoglyphs in South America.
Hundreds of human, animal and geometric figures cover the hillsides, offering evidence of the communication routes, beliefs and daily activities of pre-Hispanic communities.
Your guide will explain the estimated origins and cultural importance of these desert artworks.
Continue to Cerro Unita to observe the Atacama Giant, an enormous anthropomorphic geoglyph created on the side of the hill.
Its exact meaning remains debated, although it may have been connected with astronomy, religious beliefs or ancient travel routes.
We will ascend toward the Chilean Altiplano, passing through increasingly remote landscapes and traditional communities.
Upon arrival in Colchane, you will check in at your accommodation and rest after the journey.

Today, we will travel through some of the most remote and spectacular landscapes of northern Chile.
Explore Isluga National Park, characterized by volcanoes, high-altitude wetlands, traditional villages and Indigenous Aymara culture.
Your guide will introduce you to the history of the region and the communities that have adapted to life in the Altiplano.
Continue through Las Vicuñas National Reserve, a protected area where you may observe vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and high-altitude birds.
All wildlife must be observed from a respectful distance.
Visit the Surire Salt Flat, a vast white landscape surrounded by mountains and volcanoes.
Its lagoons and wetlands provide habitat for flamingos and other bird species. The area also offers extraordinary opportunities for landscape and wildlife photography.
In the afternoon, we will continue to Putre, a traditional Andean town located near Lauca National Park.
Upon arrival, you will check in at your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, depart from Putre for a full-day excursion through Lauca National Park.
This protected area contains volcanoes, high-altitude wetlands, lakes and important wildlife habitats.
During the journey, you may observe vicuñas, alpacas, flamingos, Andean geese and viscachas, depending on natural conditions.
Visit the Cotacotani Lagoons, a beautiful network of lakes, channels and volcanic islands.
The landscape is framed by the Payachata volcanoes, creating one of the most impressive panoramic views in the Chilean Altiplano.
Continue to Chungará Lake, one of the highest large lakes in the world.
Its deep-blue waters reflect the surrounding volcanoes, particularly Parinacota and Pomerape. You will have time to appreciate the landscape, take photographs and learn about the area’s geology and wildlife.
After the excursion, return to Putre.

After breakfast, we will begin the journey from Putre toward Arica.
The road descends from the Altiplano through dramatic valleys, mountain viewpoints and traditional villages.
Along the route, there may be stops to admire the changing landscapes and learn about the cultural connections between the high Andes and the Pacific coast.
Upon arrival in Arica, the tour will finish at the hotel, city center or another previously coordinated point.
